# CVE-2024-27133: MLFlow Cross-site Scripting vulnerability leads to client-side Remote Code Execution

**Signal:** Normal patch cycle. No exploitation signal; fix it in your next routine update if you are affected. (Computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS; not an editorial verdict.)

## Should you act?

- Not in CISA KEV , but CISA’s SSVC assessment records a public proof-of-concept, so attack code exists.
- EPSS 0.7% , percentile 51: FIRST’s model estimates a 0.7% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 51% of all scored CVEs (moderate). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Needs a user to click or open something. Phishing makes that realistic, but it is not wormable.
- Only applies if your dependency tree includes mlflow (PyPI) < 2.10.0, fixed in 2.10.0 . Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.

## What it is

Insufficient sanitization in MLflow leads to XSS when running a recipe that uses an untrusted dataset. This issue leads to a client-side RCE when running the recipe in Jupyter Notebook. The vulnerability stems from lack of sanitization over dataset table fields.

## Affected packages

- PyPI `mlflow` < 2.10.0 → fixed: 2.10.0

## Affected products (CVE record)

-  mlflow: <= 2.9.2

## Severity

- JFROG CVSS 3.1: 7.5 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H`
- GitHub CVSS 3.1: 9.6 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H`

## Exploitation

- CISA KEV: not listed (no confirmed in-the-wild exploitation known to CISA).
- CISA SSVC assessment: exploitation poc , automatable no , technical impact partial .
- FIRST EPSS (model of 2026-10-21): 0.66% probability of exploitation activity in the next 30 days; percentile 51.
