# CVE-2024-41710: Mitel SIP Phones Argument Injection Vulnerability

**Signal:** Exploited: patch now if you run it. CISA has confirmed exploitation in the wild. (Computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS; not an editorial verdict.)

## Should you act?

- Yes, if you run Mitel SIP Phones. CISA added this CVE to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2025-02-12, which means there is reliable evidence of exploitation in the wild. US federal agencies must remediate by 2025-03-05 ; treat that as the outer limit, not the target.
- EPSS 41.6% , percentile 99: FIRST’s model estimates a 41.6% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 99% of all scored CVEs (very high). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Needs an account (high (admin)). Exposure depends on who can log in.

## What it is

A vulnerability in the Mitel 6800 Series, 6900 Series, and 6900w Series SIP Phones, including the 6970 Conference Unit, through R6.4.0.HF1 (R6.4.0.136) could allow an authenticated attacker with administrative privilege to conduct an argument injection attack, due to insufficient parameter sanitization during the boot process. A successful exploit could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands within the context of the system.
