Critical and remotely reachable
No known exploitation yet, but it is network-reachable without credentials. This signal is computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS data; it is not an editorial verdict.
- Not in CISA KEV, but CISA’s SSVC assessment records a public proof-of-concept, so attack code exists.
- EPSS 1.3%, percentile 71: FIRST’s model estimates a 1.3% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 71% of all scored CVEs (moderate). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Needs a user to click or open something. Phishing makes that realistic, but it is not wormable.
- Only applies if your dependency tree includes
io.undertow:undertow-core(Maven) = 2.4.0.Alpha1, no fixed version listed;io.undertow:undertow-core(Maven) >= 2.3.0.Alpha1, < 2.3.21.Final, fixed in 2.3.21.Final;io.undertow:undertow-core(Maven) < 2.2.39.Final, fixed in 2.2.39.Final. Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.
What it is
A flaw was found in the Undertow HTTP server core, which is used in WildFly, JBoss EAP, and other Java applications. The Undertow library fails to properly validate the Host header in incoming HTTP requests.As a result, requests containing malformed or malicious Host headers are processed without rejection, enabling attackers to poison caches, perform internal network scans, or hijack user sessions.
