CVE-2025-71338: Flowise allows arbitrary file write to RCE
Flowise through 2.2.7 fails to sanitize path segments in the document-store loader endpoint, allowing unauthenticated attackers to write files outside the storage directory.

Critical and remotely reachable
No known exploitation yet, but it is network-reachable without credentials. This signal is computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS data; it is not an editorial verdict.
- Not in CISA KEV, but CISA’s SSVC assessment records a public proof-of-concept, so attack code exists.
- EPSS 1.2%, percentile 67: FIRST’s model estimates a 1.2% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 67% of all scored CVEs (moderate). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Remotely reachable with no login and no user interaction. If the vulnerable service is exposed to the internet, prioritize it.
- Only applies if your dependency tree includes
flowise(npm) <= 2.2.7, no fixed version listed. Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.
What it is
Flowise through 2.2.7 fails to sanitize path segments in the document-store loader endpoint, allowing unauthenticated attackers to write files outside the storage directory. Attackers can use parent-directory sequences to escape the storage directory and overwrite application files loaded at boot for remote code execution.
From the GitHub advisory
Summary An attacker could write files with arbitrary content to the filesystem via the /api/v1/document-store/loader/process API. An attacker can reach RCE(Remote Code Execution) via file writing.
Details All file writing functions in packages/components/src/storageUtils.ts are vulnerable. - addBase64FilesToStorage - addArrayFilesToStorage - addSingleFileToStorage
The fileName parameter, which is an untrusted external input, is being used as an argument to path.join() without verification.
Therefore, users can move to the parent folder via ../ and write files to any path.
Once file writing is possible in all paths, an attacker can reach RCE (Remote Code Execution) in a variety of ways.
Weakness type: CWE-73, CWE-94.

Exploitation and urgency
- CISA KEV: not listed (no confirmed in-the-wild exploitation known to CISA).
- CISA SSVC assessment: exploitation poc, automatable yes, technical impact total.
- FIRST EPSS (model of 2026-11-04): 1.16% probability of exploitation activity in the next 30 days; percentile 67.
