Should you act?

Exploited: patch now if you run it

CISA has confirmed exploitation in the wild. This signal is computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS data; it is not an editorial verdict.

  • Yes, if you run Check Point SmartConsole. CISA added this CVE to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-07-22, which means there is reliable evidence of exploitation in the wild. US federal agencies must remediate by 2026-07-25; treat that as the outer limit, not the target.
  • EPSS 78.0%, percentile 99.6: FIRST’s model estimates a 78.0% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 99.6% of all scored CVEs (very high). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
  • Remotely reachable with no login and no user interaction. If the vulnerable service is exposed to the internet, prioritize it.
  • Editorial verdict: Patch this week. Check Point CVE-2026-16232: Exploited Management Auth Bypass — Install the July 2026 Jumbo Hotfix on every Check Point management server this week, and today if the server is reachable from the internet with unrestricted Trusted Clients; that is the setup attackers used to take full admin control.

What it is

An authentication bypass vulnerability in the Check Point SmartConsole login process allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to obtain an application login token and use it to authenticate with full administrative privileges. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to modify security policies and security configurations. Remote exploitation requires internet access to the Management Server IP address and a configuration that does not restrict Trusted Clients. Check Point is aware that this vulnerability is being exploited and has affected a very small number of customers.

CISA’s summary
