# CVE-2026-41050: Fleet: Helm impersonation bypass of `RESTClientGetter` retains `cluster-admin` during template rendering

**Signal:** Critical, preconditions apply. Severe if exploited, but exploitation needs conditions that may not apply to you. (Computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS; not an editorial verdict.)

## Should you act?

- No confirmed exploitation. It is not in CISA’s KEV catalog and CISA’s SSVC assessment records no known exploitation. That can change quickly after a public write-up; re-check if you are affected.
- EPSS 0.4% , percentile 37: FIRST’s model estimates a 0.4% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 37% of all scored CVEs (low). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Needs an account (low (any account)). Exposure depends on who can log in.
- Only applies if your dependency tree includes github.com/rancher/fleet (Go) >= 0.15.0, < 0.15.1, fixed in 0.15.1 ; github.com/rancher/fleet (Go) >= 0.14.0, < 0.14.5, fixed in 0.14.5 ; github.com/rancher/fleet (Go) >= 0.13.0, < 0.13.10, fixed in 0.13.10 ; github.com/rancher/fleet (Go) >= 0.12.0, < 0.12.14, fixed in 0.12.14 . Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.

## What it is

Fleet's Helm deployer did not fully apply ServiceAccount impersonation in two code paths, allowing a tenant with git push access to a Fleet-monitored repository to read secrets from any namespace on every downstream cluster targeted by their GitRepo.

## Affected packages

- Go `github.com/rancher/fleet` >= 0.15.0, < 0.15.1 → fixed: 0.15.1
- Go `github.com/rancher/fleet` >= 0.14.0, < 0.14.5 → fixed: 0.14.5
- Go `github.com/rancher/fleet` >= 0.13.0, < 0.13.10 → fixed: 0.13.10
- Go `github.com/rancher/fleet` >= 0.12.0, < 0.12.14 → fixed: 0.12.14
- Go `github.com/rancher/fleet` >= 0.11.0, < 0.11.13 → fixed: 0.11.13

## Affected products (CVE record)

- SUSE Rancher: 0.15.0 < 0.15.1, 0.14.0 < 0.14.5, 0.13.0 < 0.13.10, 0.12.0 < 0.12.14, 0.11.0 < 0.11.13

## Severity

- suse CVSS 3.1: 9.9 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H`
- GitHub CVSS 3.1: 9.9 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H`

## Exploitation

- CISA KEV: not listed (no confirmed in-the-wild exploitation known to CISA).
- CISA SSVC assessment: exploitation none , automatable no , technical impact total .
- FIRST EPSS (model of 2026-10-21): 0.44% probability of exploitation activity in the next 30 days; percentile 37.
