# CVE-2026-64849: MLflow Server-Side Request Forgery Vulnerability

**Signal:** Exploited: patch now if you run it. CISA has confirmed exploitation in the wild. (Computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS; not an editorial verdict.)

## Should you act?

- Yes, if you run MLflow MLflow. CISA added this CVE to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-08-19, which means there is reliable evidence of exploitation in the wild. US federal agencies must remediate by 2026-09-02 ; treat that as the outer limit, not the target.
- EPSS 9.8% , percentile 96: FIRST’s model estimates a 9.8% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 96% of all scored CVEs (very high). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
- Remotely reachable with no login and no user interaction. If the vulnerable service is exposed to the internet, prioritize it.
- Only applies if your dependency tree includes mlflow (PyPI) >= 3.3.0, < 3.15.0, fixed in 3.15.0 . Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.
- Editorial verdict: Act now. MLflow CVE-2026-64849: Exploited Unauthenticated SSRF — If an MLflow tracking server below 3.15.0 is reachable by anyone you do not fully trust, assume attackers can read your cloud instance credentials through it: upgrade today, then check webhooks and cloud audit logs.

## What it is

MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. Starting in 3.3.0 and prior to 3.15.0, the unauthenticated POST /api/2.0/mlflow/webhooks/{id}/test endpoint calls validatewebhookurl() in mlflow/utils/validation.py only for the original URL while mlflow/webhooks/delivery.py follows redirects and re-resolves the hostname without pinning the validated address, allowing attackers to reach internal or cloud metadata services and receive responsestatus and responsebody. This issue is fixed in version 3.15.0.

## Affected packages

- PyPI `mlflow` >= 3.3.0, < 3.15.0 → fixed: 3.15.0

## Affected products (CVE record)

- mlflow mlflow: >= 3.3.0, < 3.15.0

## Severity

- GitHub_M CVSS 3.1: 9.3 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N`
- GitHub CVSS 3.1: 9.3 `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N`

## Exploitation

- CISA KEV: added 2026-08-19; federal due date 2026-09-02. Known ransomware use: Unknown.
- CISA required action: Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable. Stakeholders are responsible for evaluating each asset's internet exposure and ensuring adherence to BOD 26-04 patching guidelines.
- CISA SSVC assessment: exploitation active , automatable yes , technical impact partial .
- FIRST EPSS (model of 2026-10-21): 9.84% probability of exploitation activity in the next 30 days; percentile 96.
