Should you act?

Critical and remotely reachable

No known exploitation yet, but it is network-reachable without credentials. This signal is computed from CISA KEV, EPSS and CVSS data; it is not an editorial verdict.

  • No confirmed exploitation. It is not in CISA’s KEV catalog and CISA’s SSVC assessment records no known exploitation. That can change quickly after a public write-up; re-check if you are affected.
  • EPSS 4.0%, percentile 90: FIRST’s model estimates a 4.0% chance of exploitation activity in the next 30 days, higher than 90% of all scored CVEs (elevated). EPSS is a probability, not a verdict.
  • Remotely reachable with no login and no user interaction. If the vulnerable service is exposed to the internet, prioritize it.
  • Only applies if your dependency tree includes org.geotools.jdbc:gt-jdbc-postgis (Maven) = 35.0, fixed in 35.1; org.geotools.jdbc:gt-jdbc-postgis (Maven) >= 34.0, < 34.5, fixed in 34.5; org.geotools.jdbc:gt-jdbc-postgis (Maven) >= 30.5, < 33.6, fixed in 33.6. Check your lockfile, including transitive dependencies.

What it is

GeoTools is an open source Java library that provides tools for geospatial data. Starting in version 30.5 and prior to versions 33.6, 34.5, and 33.6, an SQL Injection Vulnerability is present when executing OGC Filters with PostGIS DataStore implementation: jsonArrayContains function; Requires PostGIS 12 or greater with a String or JSON field. For PostGIS 12 and greater jsonArrayContains( , , ) function writes into generated SQL without escaping. Patches are available in versions 33.6, 34.5, and 33.6. No known workaround is available. To limit scope of SQL Injection the PostGIS connection pool should be configured with limited rights.
